# How do I pay for gifts?

There are two main ways to pay for gifts on Goody: prefunding your gift with Balance, or pay-as-you-go with credit card.

**Credit card:** Add a credit card from your [Payment Methods](https://www.ongoody.com/plus/account/payment-methods) page or the [Send page](https://www.ongoody.com/plus/send). Your credit card will be charged for the original gift value after the gift is accepted. If your recipient swaps for a slightly cheaper gift, you will receive the difference to your Goody account balance. If the gift expires without being accepted, you will not be charged. Charges are batched into a maximum of 3 charges & receipts per week.

**Balance (pre-funded):** Add funds to your account via credit card or invoice. You can do this from your [Balance page](https://www.ongoody.com/plus/balance/user) or directly from the [Send page](https://www.ongoody.com/plus/send). For invoice requests, the invoice will be sent via email within one business day. Funds aren’t added until full payment is received. Payment can be made via ACH bank transfer through the link in the invoice. Funds are reserved when the gift is sent. If the gift expires without being accepted, the funds are returned to your balance. Balance is not refundable, and expire after 1 year of inactivity.

Teams plan customers can also allocate funds using the [Budgeting tool,](https://www.ongoody.com/plus/organization/budgeting) distributing balance at the organization, Workspace, or individual level.
