# Installing and Setting Up HubSpot

Connect Goody to HubSpot so gift data syncs to your CRM and you can send gifts from HubSpot.

## Before you start

*   You need a Goody account on a Goody for Business organization.
*   You must be an organization admin in Goody. Only admins see Connect to HubSpot.
*   You need a HubSpot account you can sign into.
*   You need permission to install apps in that HubSpot account (usually a HubSpot admin).

Complete the whole connection in one browser tab. Do not switch browsers or devices partway through.

## Connect Goody to HubSpot

### 1\. Open the integration in Goody

1.  Sign in to Goody.
2.  Go to **Organization settings → [Integrations](https://www.ongoody.com/plus/organization/integrations)**.
3.  Click [**HubSpot**](https://www.ongoody.com/plus/organization/integrations/hubspot).

### 2\. Start the connection

1.  Click **Connect to HubSpot**.
2.  Goody sends you to HubSpot’s authorization page.

Goody is asking HubSpot for permission to connect on your behalf. You are not sharing your Goody password with HubSpot.

### 3\. Sign in to HubSpot (if prompted)

1.  If you are not already signed in, enter your HubSpot email and password.
2.  Choose the correct HubSpot account if you have more than one.

### 4\. Approve access

1.  HubSpot shows what Goody is allowed to do (read and update contacts, companies, deals, gift data, and related activity).
2.  Click **Connect app** or **Authorize** (wording may vary).

If you cancel or deny, the connection fails and you return to Goody with an error.

### 5\. Return to Goody

*   HubSpot sends you back to Goody automatically.
*   You land on the [HubSpot integration settings page](https://www.ongoody.com/plus/organization/integrations/hubspot).
*   The connection is complete when the Settings section is active (not grayed out).

Goody stores a secure access token from HubSpot. You do not need to copy any codes or tokens.

## Start syncing

Connecting only authorizes the link. Data does not sync until you start it.

1.  Choose **Workspaces to sync** — all workspaces, or specific ones.
2.  Choose whether to **Create gift properties on contact and company records** (recommended: enabled). See [Syncing Data Between HubSpot and Goody](https://support.ongoody.com/en_us/articles/hubspot-crm-property-sync-SJiN6qwHfg) for what these fields are and how they update.
3.  Choose whether to **Sync historical gift data** (disabled by default). When enabled, gifts your organization sent outside of HubSpot also sync to HubSpot as Goody gift records and appear on the Goody card and in contact gift properties, as long as the recipient's email matches a HubSpot contact. When disabled, only gifts sent through HubSpot appear.
4.  Click **Start syncing to HubSpot**.

When you see **Syncing to HubSpot**, setup is done.

## If something goes wrong

Problem

What to do

Connect to HubSpot button is missing

Ask a Goody org admin to connect, or contact Goody support to confirm HubSpot is enabled for your organization.

“Only organization admins can configure this integration”

Sign in with a Goody org admin account.

“OAuth state mismatch”

Start over from Connect to HubSpot in the same browser. Do not clear cookies mid-flow.

HubSpot authorization failed

Retry the connect flow. Confirm you can install apps in HubSpot.

Connected in Goody but nothing appears in HubSpot

Complete Start syncing above.

## Disconnect

1.  On the [HubSpot integration page](https://www.ongoody.com/plus/organization/integrations/hubspot) in Goody, click **Disconnect**.
2.  To fully remove the app from HubSpot, uninstall Goody under **Settings → Connected Apps** in HubSpot.
