# Set up a Smart Link

> Create a Smart Link to collect recipient lead  info through gift redemptions. Set redemption limits and approval rules for events like conferences and webinars.

_How do I set up a Smart Link?_

**Requires:** Team subscription

Set up a Smart Link to create gifts that capture a recipients’ lead information. Choose the number of redemptions that match your budget and decide whether you’d like to require approval. Smart Links are ideal for:

*   Conferences
    
*   Sponsored events
    
*   VIP dinners or hospitality suites
    
*   Desk sides
    
*   Marketing emails
    
*   Webinars or gated content
    
*   LinkedIn or social outreach
    

## **Before you begin**

*   A Team subscription is required to create a Smart Link. If you're not on Team plan yet, see [Book a demo](https://www.ongoody.com/business/team-demo). 
    
*   You need a Goody account on a Goody for Business organization.
    

## **Create a Smart Link**

1\. Log in to your Goody account. 

2\. Click **Start a new gift** or **Send**.

3\. Find a gift via **Browse the store**, **Let recipients choose**, or **Branded Swag**.

4\. When you’re ready to check out, click the purple bag icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Select **Checkout**.

5\. Select **Send via email or gift link**. Fill out the card information.

6\. Scroll down to the next screen. Select **Create a Smart Link**.

7\. Scroll down to select the maximum amount of redeemable gifts, if approval for the gifts is required, and if a work email address is needed for redemption.

8\. Scroll down to edit features like swap and international shipping. If desired, write a gift name. You can require a meeting calendar selection or form fill out for gift redemption.

9\. Select your payment method. Then, click **Review gift**.

10\. Select **Get gift link**.

## **Assign approvers**

If you chose **Require approval**, you can pick who approves each redemption. Under **Approval**, click **Add or edit approvers**.

You can select anyone in your organization. Everyone you select is notified by email each time someone claims a gift, and any one of them can approve or decline it from a link in that email. Uncheck yourself to hand approval over entirely.

This is useful when you set up a campaign on someone else’s behalf and want that person to approve Smart Link redemptions. Gifts are still charged to the payment method you selected at checkout.

Each approver gets an email like this when a gift is claimed, with **Approve** and **Reject** buttons they can act on:
